Thinking modes and asking first
How hard Kaeru thinks, and how much it checks with you before acting.
Two small pickers sit under the ask box. They are independent.
How hard should Kaeru think?
| Mode | What it is for | What it costs |
|---|---|---|
| Lite | Quick answers and small edits | 1 request |
| Auto | The everyday default. Kaeru picks the right amount of effort | 2 requests |
| Performance | Big, careful changes where you want it to take its time | 5 requests |
Most of the time, leave it on Auto. Switch to Performance for a redesign; switch to Lite for "what does this do?"
How much should Kaeru ask first?
| Mode | What happens |
|---|---|
| Ask me first | Kaeru asks before every edit and every command. Slowest, most control. |
| Plan first | Kaeru makes all the edits, then shows them to you as one set to accept or reject. |
| Just build | Kaeru does the work and you review afterwards. Fastest. |
Whatever the mode, Kaeru never runs a command on your computer without asking. And you can always undo.
