Use your own AI key
Already pay an AI provider directly? Plug that in and Kaeru stops counting.
Kaeru comes with its AI built in, so you never need an account with anyone else. But if you already have your own key from a provider, you can use it instead.
When you do, Kaeru counts nothing. Your requests are unlimited, because you are paying your provider directly for each one.
Adding a key
- On your dashboard, open Your key.
- Paste the key from your provider.
- Save.
The app switches over automatically. Your Usage page will say You are using your own key.
Removing it
Delete the key on the same page and Kaeru goes back to its built-in AI and your plan's allowance.
Who is this for?
Most people never need this. It is here for the few who already have an AI subscription and would rather use it.
